Biodiversity Conservation in Catanduanes). Mangroves and Beach Forests Vegetation (MBFV) are the Bio walls or Bio belts of coastal communities which protect them from tidal surges and rising sea levels. During the occurrence of typhoons, the MBFV are the sentinels of the shores of coastal dwellers guarding them from tsunamis and strong winds.

A current scenario of this climate disturbance was the Super Typhoon Goni (Rolly) that hit Catanduanes Island in the Philippines on November 1, 2020. Few human casualties were registered but more on the destruction of MBFV. These scenario eventually made PACIFICTECH NGO conceptualize the MBFV BIOCON/SURMABIOCON Project.
